Code of Conduct

ALPA Summit Code of Conduct

Introduction

Affordable Learning PA events are opportunities for members to learn and share with other members and guests. In order to create an environment that is conducive to learning, it is expected that all attendees of ALPA events treat each other with respect. To that end, this Code of Conduct is designed to outline our expectations for the behavior of all who participate in our events, both in person and virtually. It will cover examples of unacceptable behaviors, our process for dealing with those behaviors, and how to contact us to report possible violations of the Code of Conduct.

Investigation & Consequences

After being notified of a possible violation of the Code of Conduct, a team will be assembled to interview those involved, review evidence, and decide if a violation did occur. The possible penalties for a violation of the Code of Conduct include a formal warning, removal from the event, and a potential ban from future ALPA Events. Violations of criminal laws will be forwarded to law
enforcement.

How to Report an Incident

If you witnessed a violation of this Code of Conduct please submit a report of that incident to alpa-summit@palci.org. All such reports will be directed immediately to the ALPA Steering Committee, who will determine and carry out the appropriate course of action, and who may consult with and engage other ALPA staff, leaders, and legal counsel as appropriate. Local law enforcement may be involved, as appropriate based on the specific circumstances. A follow-up report will be made to individuals who report being harassed.
